U.S NONFARM PAYROLLS (DEC) ACTUAL: 216K VS 199K PREVIOUS; EST 175K

U.S UNEMPLOYMENT RATE (DEC) ACTUAL: 3.7% VS 3.7% PREVIOUS; EST 3.8%
Soft Landing is weer terug op tafel:

The unemployment rate fell to 3.7%, below expectations of 3.8%.
This means that the US economy has now added jobs for 36 consecutive months.
Is the Fed on track for a "soft landing" in 2024?

December's NFP print is scheduled for release at 8:30am NY time. Here is where things currently stand on ECAN<Go>, check back following the release for a deeper dive: (Consensus is for +175K) pic.twitter.com/lI3n5Rrx9x

Nog even ter aanvulling:
Remember November's big gains in manufacturing employment (+28K) were because striking auto workers returned to work, implying that job growth in the sector will likely return back to trend, which has been flat to slightly negative: https://t.co/MCpBEEI0a1 pic.twitter.com/O2tLXKvuKf
